Tethys Himalayan DEN is the culmination of a dream project that began with the creation of Nomadic Trails - India, the outdoor unit of Tethys Himalayan, focused on activity and adventure based experiential trips in Spiti. Run by a team passionate about the outdoors and mountains, Tethys Himalayan DEN is our endevour to be much more than a fleeting seasonal presence in Spiti. Set up at Chicham village of Spiti, a place that our team has always been closely associated with and loved, DEN it is our home and base in the mountains that we want to share with you.

TETHYS HIMALAYAN DEN

Located at a height of 4,270 metres above sea level, Tethys Himalayan DEN offers a unique experiential stay. Situated at the top of Chicham village, DEN has unhindered views of the Himalayan peaks and Spitian landscape. An amalgam of Spitian hospitality and modern comforts, come during summers or winters to experience varying shades of the Trans-Himalayan jewel.

Located in the heart of Spiti valley, DEN has many attractions in its vicinity such as the Chandra Tal lake, Ki monastery, Kibber Wildlife Sanctuary, Tabo, Dhankar and Pin Valley. Know more about things to do in Spiti.

The DEN brings together cosy interiors, scrumptious meals and personal service, making it the ideal escape from city life. The rooms are named after Himalayan Wildlife and the in-house kitchen serves warm soulful food. Our team consists of passionate mountaineers and locals that take pride in Spitian culture. We Care

Tethys Himalayan strives to have minimal impact on the environment. This is reflected in all our operations, be it the outdoors on the trails or at the DEN.

Some measures that reflect our commitment include an off-grid solar powered lighting system for the entire property, water conservation and storage facilities, solar water heating systems and sunlit rooms for natural heating. We also have an extensive Garbage Management system, among the first in the valley. To ensure minimal operational impact, we have tied up with like-minded brands to provide us with bio-degradable cleaning agents and solutions for use at the property. This is just the beginning and we’ll continue to up the ante and show that high value-low impact tourism promises returns for all.
